August 15, 16 & 17, 2008, Cumberland Village Works delivered another stellar music inspired event with The Big Time Out -2008. Village Park in downtown Cumberland hosted some of the hottest independent acts currently touring the planet, including: Indie rockers Metric, hip-hop daddies De La Soul, K’naan, Matisyahu, Delhi2Dublin, Moshav, Shane Philip, Wil, That 1 Guy, Adham Shaikh, The CR Avery Band and You Say Party! We Say Die!
The Big Time Out had all the elements audiences have come to expect from a major Cumberland Village Works event, including audiovisual installations, commissioned art, dance and circus pieces, thematic chill zones and many other surprises.
Bringing successful International talent to this quaint little village is just the beginning. The Big Time Out is all about creating a festive vibe and funky setting. Inside the gates of The Big Time Out is a unique community event with a vibrant scene enveloping the exceptional music. Commissioned art installations, contemporary visuals, circus performers and colorful dancers provided a backdrop to thematic chill spaces like the extremely popular Union Saloon and our new family-oriented chai tent.
